Side by side
HBi Certified vs. a typical used car
HBi Certified is an HBi Auto dealer program, not a manufacturer certified pre-owned program. The issued warranty contract controls coverage, limits and exclusions.
How a car becomes certified
Inspected, approved twice, then published
- 1Inspect
A technician works through all 111 points and the documentation checks, with photos and per-wheel measurements.
- 2Recondition
Anything that doesn’t pass is repaired before the car can be certified.
- 3Foreman approves
The shop foreman reviews the finished inspection and signs off.
- 4Sales manager approves
A second sign-off before anything is published.
- 5Published on the car page
The full checklist appears on the car’s page, and the car gets the HBi Certified badge only when every applicable item passed.
Match your coverage to how long you plan to own the car. Every retail vehicle sold by HBi Auto includes a 3-month shakedown coverage window with a $0 deductible, and eligible Porsche and exotic vehicles can extend coverage to 24 or 36 months.
Why We Built Our Own CPO Program
Many of our clients wanted the confidence of a certified car, but a factory-backed CPO vehicle was often the only available option. Because we had already spent years maintaining these cars, we decided to create an HBi Certified program designed around how our clients actually buy, service, and drive them.
We started with Porsche’s extensive CPO inspection standards and worked with Darren Nitz at Dealer Coach to develop our own program. Every retail vehicle must pass HBi’s 111-point inspection and required reconditioning before sale. Each retail vehicle includes an initial 3-month shakedown coverage window, and most clients extend coverage to 24 or 36 months on eligible Porsche, exotic, and select other vehicles so protection matches how long they plan to keep the car. Approved repairs can be completed at an OEM dealership, qualified independent specialist, or certified repair facility nationwide.
The goal: thorough preparation and meaningful protection without locking the owner into a single service location.

- Condition, function, safety, and required reconditioning.
- Complimentary 3-month shakedown coverage on every HBi retail vehicle.
- Optional 24- or 36-month terms on eligible vehicles.
- OEM dealers, specialists, and certified repair facilities.

Choose the Protection That Fits Your Ownership Plan
These plans are optional and are not required to purchase an HBi Certified vehicle. Your HBi representative can explain current eligibility, coverage limits, deductibles, exclusions, pricing, and available terms before you decide.
Optional protection-plan availability varies by vehicle, financing, provider, state, and selected agreement. Terms, conditions, exclusions, deductibles, limits, and eligibility requirements apply. See HBi Auto for complete current plan documents.

HBi CPO Warranty FAQ
What vehicles qualify for HBi CPO coverage?
Every vehicle HBi Auto sells as a retail unit includes complimentary 3-month shakedown coverage. For optional 24- or 36-month coverage, Porsche vehicles generally must be no more than 10 years old or have fewer than 120,000 miles, with exceptions. Ferrari, McLaren, and Lamborghini generally follow similar guidelines. Other makes are evaluated individually.
What is covered?
Coverage includes eligible engine, transmission, drivetrain, cooling, fuel, steering, suspension, braking, air-conditioning, electrical, and comfort-electronics components listed in the applicable warranty agreement.
Can I extend the coverage?
Yes. The included 3-month coverage is designed as an initial shakedown window. Eligible vehicles may extend coverage to 24 or 36 months so protection more closely matches how long you plan to keep the car. The extension must be purchased within the initial 3-month coverage period.
Is the 3-month coverage enough on its own?
In most cases, no. The complimentary 3-month coverage is there to protect you as you take delivery and start driving the car. If you plan to own the vehicle beyond that window, we recommend matching coverage to your expected ownership period with a 24- or 36-month term on eligible vehicles.
Is there a deductible?
No. Approved covered repairs under the applicable HBi CPO agreement have a $0 deductible.
Where can I use the coverage?
Coverage is usable nationwide at Porsche dealerships, other OEM dealerships, independent specialists, and certified repair facilities.
What is not covered?
Optional 24- and 36-month plans are exclusionary coverage. Common exclusions include routine maintenance, tires, brake pads and other wear items, cosmetic damage, normal deterioration, pre-existing conditions, and other items listed in the contract.
How do I file a claim?
Take the vehicle to a qualifying repair facility for diagnosis. You or the repair shop then calls the warranty-company phone number shown on the contract and provides the contract number. Once approved, the warranty company pays the repair facility for covered work.
Can I purchase coverage anywhere in the United States?
Yes. Available coverage may be purchased by eligible customers throughout the United States, subject to the specific vehicle, contract availability, and applicable requirements.
Is the warranty transferable?
Yes. Coverage is transferable according to the transfer procedures and requirements stated in the applicable contract.
How does the 111-point inspection affect eligibility?
Every retail vehicle must pass HBi Auto’s 111-point inspection and required reconditioning. If a vehicle cannot pass, HBi will not certify it and will not offer it for retail sale.
